When I first heard about the Yes men during class, I had many questions about the fake interview that they did for Bhopal. I wanted to know if the people of Bhopal were able to get the money because of the interview, and if not, how the victims and families reacted to this interview. The documentary goes over these question very well. At first, I was surprised that the people of Bhopal were happy about the interview, but then seeing the tragic state that they have been in for the past couple of years, any attention from the world on this subject would be a great help in increasing their chances of receiving anything. The interview also serves the purpose of bringing to light the forgotten criminals.
Bringing awareness to an important problem in the world is in itself a great act for the world, but seeing that non of the companies changed their ways and the people of New Oreans are still not able to move back into their homes, maybe the Yes Men should focus on fewer topics and stick to them. But since their act is doing fake interviews/speeches with fake identities, it is probably difficult or impossible to stay on one subject/field for a long time.
I really enjoyed this documentary. I think it was very well made and funny while being very thought provoking.
